H. Malcolm Falconbury, 89, of Greenwood, passed away from this life into eternity on June 17, 2014. The son of Hervie M. and Lydia B. (Foley) Falconbury, Malcolm was born January 15, 1925 in Sullivan, Indiana.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Malcolm was a member of Greenwood Christian Church since 1964, served on the Greenwood City Council from 1960 to 1962, was vice president of the Greenwood Little League and Development Group at Craig Park and played guitar for The Indiana Ramblers. Malcolm videoed the football games and band competitions at Greenwood High School. He was also a ham radio operator.
Malcolm is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Green Falconbury, whom he married on January 25, 1947; daughter, Marla K. (Mark R.) McFarland; sons, Larry M. (Elaine) and Gary S. (Margaret L.) Falconbury, all of Greenwood; grandchildren, Todd Falconbury, Kimberly (Steve) Smith, Catherine (Dan) Kiggins, David Zenor, Bryon Jones, Samantha Jones, Kyle (Angela) Meska, Carrie (Isaac) Watson, Brandi (Dale) Atkinson and Tammy (Justin) Meyers; 14 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Gary Falconbury, Jr. and two great-grandchildren.
Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct funeral services 11:00 a.m. June 23, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. June 22, 2014 and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the donor''s favorite charity.
