Obituary

Harold Gene Bragg, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was 73 years old. Harold was born on December 13, 1951, to his parents Harold and Patty Bragg. He graduated from Northwest High School. Harold married his wife, Sheila, on June 21, 2003, and they shared 22 years of marriage together.
Harold worked for General Motors and later Allison Transmission for a combined 47 years of service; he retired in May of 2024. Harold was a member of the UAW during his many years of professional service. Harold also followed in his father's footsteps and became a lifetime member of the 32nd degree Free Masons at Scottish Rite. Harold enjoyed racing; he followed the IndyCar series as well as NASCAR. He drove the transport vehicle for Parnelli Jones, a winner of the Indianapolis 500, and always remained a dedicated fan of Tony Stewart from NASCAR. Harold proudly decorated his garage with neon signs from floor to ceiling. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, spending time at the beach, and swimming at his pool. Harold loved Florida and always valued the time he spent with his family on vacations to the sunshine state. Boating and riding motorcycles always brought him peace and joy. He loved playing with all of his beloved granddogs whenever he could. Harold will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, unfiltered one-liners, and humble demeanor. His family loved his hardworking nature and his ever-present strength. Harold loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
Harold is survived by his wife, Sheila Bragg; his daughters, Kim (Chuck) Harlow and Stacey (Colin) Lancaster; his grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Davey, Megan (Sean Hodges) Harlow, Olivia Harlow, Cole (Autumn) Lancaster, Carly (Aaron Brewer) Lancaster, and Clay Lancaster; his great grandson, Hayes Lancaster; his sister Robyn Bragg.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Harold will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, IN, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 1:30 pm. Entombment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm.
