Obituary

Harold L. Dearing, 88 of Greenwood, IN passed away August 2, 2019.  He was born in Bon Ayr Kentucky to the late Earl and Retta Dearing. Harold is survived by his loving wife Beverly Dearing, children Donna (Mike) Lory, Darrell (Lisa) Dearing, Deena (Robin) Taylor, Devonna (Mike) Blumenschein, and Charlie (Dan) Goss); grandchildren Mike, Paul and Tim Lory, David and Kelly Dearing, Marie Taylor, Michelle Konieczny, Amber Onken, Ashley Tilson, Allison Lipe, Nicholas, Kyle and Jessica Goss; 23 great grandchildren; sister Betty Calvert and brother Roger Dearing.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Jason Goss and brother Bill Dearing.

Harold was born and raised in Kentucky. He spent much of his time on his family's tobacco farm where he worked to help support his family.

Harold served our great country in the Navy in 1951, and the Army in 1955. He met the love of his life, Bev, whom he married in 1952.

Harold and Bev began their family in Indianapolis. He worked alongside his siblings at a Greenwood automotive sales and repair facility after retiring from Sealtest Ice Cream Company.

Harold never met someone that he couldn't make laugh. He always had a charismatic smile, and a plethora of jokes to light up a room.

Harold led a life embracing his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was blessed with a large family that adored him. They made many fond memories together regularly vacationing in Treasure Island, Florida. The majority of his time was spent at family gatherings where smiles and laughs filled the room. His memory and legacy will be carried on through a long list of loved ones.

Visitation will be held Monday August 5 th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 S. State Rd. 135 Greenwood, IN.  Funeral Services Will be held Monday August 5 th at 1:00 PM in the Funeral Home, burial will follow In Forest Lawn Cemetery.
