Harold A. Heitz, 82, of Greenwood, passed away October 31, 2008 at Greenwood Village South. Mr. Heitz was born December 19, 1925 in Mt. Sterling, IL to Paul A. and Wilma Landrith Heitz. On September 20, 1944, he married Mildred Hood who survives. After working 28 years at Union Carbide Corp., Harold retired in 1984 as Financial Control Manager. Besides working at Union Carbide, Harold was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood where he served as an elder and was a member of the choir. In 1949 he graduated from IU and was an honorary member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Leaving behind to mourn his passing, but celebrating the life he lived is his wife, Mildred Hood Heitz; sons, Rex (Sharon) of Warren, NH, Mark (Dawn) of Naperville, IL, Victor Heitz of Forest Park, IL; daughters, Sandra (Chet) Gunter of Martinez, GA, Deborah (Bill) Ohnsorg of Scotch Plains, NJ; brother, Lewis (Paulette) Heitz; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Heitz will be from 11-1:00pm, Monday, November 3, 2008 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Route 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 with the service at 1:00 pm with interment following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
