Hazel Campbell, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was 101 years old. Hazel was born in Brownies Creek, KY to her parents Davie Crockett Hensley and Dora Belle Hensley. Hazel grew up beside her ten other beloved siblings. She graduated from Black Star High School. Hazel married her husband, Willie Campbell, in 1947 and they shared 37 years of marriage together until Willie passed away in 1984.
Hazel was a proud homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Shelby Street Pentecostal Light House with her husband from 1973 until present. Hazel enjoyed tending to her flowers and playing the piano. She will be remembered for her organized personality and soft-spoken nature. Hazel will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Hazel is survived by; her children, Daryl (Teresa) Campbell and Vicki Campbell; her grandchildren, Lauren (Henry) Ward, Evan Simpson, and Emily Simpson; her great grandchild, William Winston Ward; her several nieces and nephews.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her 10 siblings.
A visitation for Hazel will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm.
