Helen Mae Gullett Lowder, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away October 16, 2015. The daughter of Arthur E. and Mary Pearson Gullett, Helen was born July 21, 1925 in Vincennes, Indiana.
Over the years, Helen worked in the nursery at St. Francis Hospital - Beech Grove, as an aide at Perkins Nursing Home and some private duty nursing care. Helen was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was creative in accomplishing her tasks at hand, enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and yard. She loved the outdoors and the wildlife, especially when she lived in Spencer.
Helen is survived by sons, Glen O. Lowder of Berea, Kentucky, John M. (Chris) Lowder of Coal City, Claude T. (Julie) Lowder of Noblesville and Robin L. (Christine) Lowder of Lizton; daughters, Debra J. (James) Tyree and Tina M. (Anthony) Chenault, both of Indianapolis; sisters, Edith, Frances and Delores; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore A. Lowder; sons, Theodore E. and Hubert Lowder; daughter, Barbara A. Hotseller; brother, Arthur O. Gullett and sister, Maxine Stout.
Services 11:00 a.m. October 22, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 21, 2015. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
