Helen Eugenia Ballard, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away October 31, 2015. The daughter of Roy f. and Gertrude Showalter Walker, Helen was born May 23, 1935 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

She was a 1935 graduate of Shepherdsville High School. From 1967 to 1987, Helen worked as a cashier for Kroger. She was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. Helen spent quality time playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel, especially to destinations with a beach, such as Hawaii and the Caribbean. When time would allow, she made it home to Kentucky to visit with relatives and friends.

Helen is survived by daughters, Vickie L. Crenshaw of Indianapolis and Sheila G. (Michael) Bradshaw of Indianapolis; brothers, Roy (Jackie) Walker, Jr. of Indianapolis and Billy J. (Alice) Walker of Marengo; grandsons, Randy Anderson of New Palestine and Matthew (Eleana) Hege of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Austin and Autumn Anderson and Baby Hege and her first husband, Ernie Crenshaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jed W. Ballard; sister, Verna Hagan and grandson, Brandon Michael Hege.

Funeral services 12:00 noon November 5, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Rod 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to the time of services. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
