Herbert Lee Coffey, 81 of Greenwood, passed away on July 15, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Louis Coffey and Effie Sanders. Herb was a Southside resident for 55 years. He was an avid golfer, member of the Royal Oak (Dyes Walk) Country Club, the Masonic Lodge, and Jacaranda Country Club in Venice, FL where he resided. In Herb''s earlier years, he was employed by Puritan Chemical Company. In 1971 Herb founded Action Equipment Sales Company, 5801 S. Harding Street, which sold and serviced industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals. He successfully grew the business from one location to three in which his sons took over, following in their father''s footsteps. Survivors include, wife, Carol Coffey; three sons, Rick, Mike and Herb Jr. Coffey; two brothers, Jack and Richard Coffey. Herb will now reside with his first wife Freda in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. They shared over fifty happy years together. Family and friends will gather in Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and a service will follow on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. also in the funeral home.
