Herschel Eugene Featherston, 96 passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011. Herschel was born on July 15, 1915 in Sanborn, IN to the late Charles and Freda (Struckmeyer) Featherston. Herschel was a 1935 graduate of Linton High School. He married his love Ervis Almeda Lundy on December 30, 1946.
Herschel was employed as a quality engineer for General Motors for 40 years. He retired in 1980 and enjoyed many years of travel, rock hunting and gold panning along the way.
Herschel is survived by his loving wife Almeda Featherston of 64 years; their children: Tim Featherston (Mickey) and Linda Roberts (Larry), 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Herschel was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kelly Louise Featherston.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will immediately follow.
