Obituary

Mr. Howard Dale Biggerstaff, Indianapolis, passed away on the late evening of Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his residence. He was 88. Dale was born February 27, 1933 in Martinsville, Indiana, a son of the late George W. Biggerstaff and Edna M. (Davee) Biggerstaff Adams.

Dale attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and was the founder and operator of Biggerstaff Construction Company and then later founded and was president of H. Dale Biggerstaff and Son Excavating Inc.

Dale was known for his grilling expertise and was always up for a party and having a good time with his family and friends. He spent much of his leisure time watching the Indianapolis Colts, riding motorcycles, visiting flea markets and going to area festivals.

Dale also enjoyed tinkering with antique 'hit and miss' engines. He looked forward every year to wintering in the warm climate of Cape Coral, Florida and spending time at his property on the Ohio River in Patriot, Indiana. He was a member of North Park Lodge No. 646, F&AM in Indianapolis.

Dale is survived by his children, Dennis Dale Biggerstaff, Michael Anthony Biggerstaff and James Willard (Rita) Biggerstaff; his grandchildren, Craig Biggerstaff, Jeremy Biggerstaff, Austin Biggerstaff, Cheyenne Kelly, Brandon Horn, Michael Biggerstaff,  Amanda Biggerstaff, Tia Grant and Wyatt Biggerstaff; 14 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Gene (June) Biggerstaff and Nyle (Sharon) Biggerstaff; his daughter-in-law, Pat Biggerstaff as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in passing by his wife of 47 years, Carrie Wilma (Bogard) Biggerstaff; his son, Wayne Biggerstaff; a brother, Wayne Biggerstaff and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Jane Biggerstaff.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Rev. Nyle Biggerstaff officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at  the funeral home.
