Howard E. Rowlett, Sr., age 81, of Vevay, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away July 28, 2012. The son of Lawrence J. and Mary Ellen McKay Rowlett, Howard was born January 9, 1931 in Trimble County, Kentucky.
He was a retired diesel mechanic with White Freight Lines and a member of Teamster Local #135.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
Howard is survived by his wife, Sandy L. Rowlett of Vevay; sons, Larry (Kathy) Rowlett, Darrell Rowlett, and Howard E. "Pete" (Ellen) Rowlett, Jr., all of Indianapolis; daughter, Mary Jane (Robert) McHenry of Deerfield Beach, Florida; daughter in law, Mary Lou Rowlett of Indianapolis; sisters, Lois Leiter of Bedford, Kentucky, Jackie Hall of Orlando, Florida and Nellie Patterson of Madison, Indiana; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by children, Greg and Beth Ann Rowlett and brothers, Raymond and Clifford Rowlett.
