Howard E. Thompson, 83, Columbus, IN passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was born October 6, 1926 in Trafalgar, IN to Glenn and Anna (Richardson) Thompson. He graduated from Whiteland High School with the Class of 1945. Howard was a lifelong farmer and, retired from Emery Air Freight. He was a Life Member of Knights of Pythias, and member of Foresters. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie Kelly, whom he wed on June 24, 1983. He is also survived by 3 sons, Randyl (Deanna) McCauley, of Solsberry, IN, Kelly McCauley, of Nashville, IN and Joseph McCauley of Franklin, IN; 5 daughters, Ronda (Bill) McCauley of Texas, Penny Jo Wethington of Trafalgar, Beth (Robert) Sullivan of Columbus, IN, Louanne Esselborn of Taylorsville, IN and Nancy (Larry) Walke of Batesville, IN; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geneva Kirk. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 27, at 1:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, from 4 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one''s choice.
