Hubert (Jerry) G. Whitten,80, resident of Greenwood passed away March 19,2008 at his home. He was born in Connersville, IN to the late Hubert Whitten and Greeta Matillo. Hubert was a United States Navy veteran. Hubert was a member of Holiday Rambler Recreational Club, Dixie Bee Camping Club, he enjoyed model trains and collecting porcelain birds. He retired from Eli Lilly after 37 1/2 years of faithful employment. He is survived by his loving wife Fern of 56 years; son Phillip Whitten and his wife Mary A., three daughters Brenda Douthwright and her husband Paul, Patricia Bissey and her husband Robert and Donna Bailer and her husband Kevin; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers Jerry Whitten and Keith Whitten; three sisters Martina Browning, Edith Pottenger, and JoAnna Stevens He is preceded in death by brothers Lowell Whitten, Martin Matillo and Robert Matillo; sister Phyllis Cruz. Visitation will be Monday, March25, 2008 4-8PM at Forest lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March26, 2008 at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
