Mrs. Ilse Edwards Soots, Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at her daughter's residence. She was 90. Ilse was born February 22, 1930 in Kusel, Germany, a daughter of the late Alfred and Freida Jung.

Ilse had been employed for many years at the Indiana School for the Blind as the head housekeeper and then devoted her life to loving and taking care of her family. She loved them all dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and looking after her flower beds and reading her Bible. She also had a love for animals, especially dogs. She was  kind, selfless, hard working and good-hearted and took care of everyone and saw to their needs often overlooking her own. Ilse enjoyed the simple life.

Ilse is survived by her children, Ralf (Rene) Edwards, Esther (Sam) Sherfick and Chris (Janice) Edwards; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren as well as two nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by a sister, Hilda Jourdain.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana with Chaplain Paul Whiteford officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
