Iva Ruth Folck, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away June 19, 2014. The daughter of Penn B. and Fannie A. (Hart) Scott, Iva was born March 3, 1921 in Stuart, Virginia.
She was a commercial underwriter for Farm Bureau Insurance for 26 years, retiring in 1984. Iva was a member of Southside Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she served as a Deaconess. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and was an avid reader. After the death of her husband, she became an extremely independent woman and enjoyed being a "snowbird" by going to Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Iva is survived by son, David (Pat) Folck of Warsaw; daughters, Judy Williams of Indianapolis and Gina (Blake) Hall of Logansport; sisters, Juel Holland of Walla Walla, Washington, Hattie Folck of Greencastle, Margareet Back of Eaton, Ohio and Jerline Aylsworth of Fair Oaks, California; grandchildren, Ron (Amy) Kattau, Laura (Todd) Clark, Pamela Towle, Donald (Irma) Ferrill, Kellie VanderVeen, Joey Folck, Marrianne (Chris) Armstrong and Lori Jones; great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Markette, Joshua (Jobie) Whittemore, Jordan Clark, Hayley Kattau, Kirstin Towle, Cynthia Towle and Devin Ferrill; great-great grandchildren, Payton, Taylor, Robert III and Hayden Markette; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Iva was preceded in death by husband, Joseph W. Folck, whom she married on April 3, 1956; brothers, Wilbur and Loren Scott and sisters, Ellen Dennison and Carolyn Walker.
Funeral services 1:00 p.m. June 24, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
