Jack W. Bedan, Sr passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born in New Albany, Indiana on February 18, 1936 to the late John and Dorothy Bedan.

Jack graduated from St. Anthony in 1949 and Jeffersonville High School in 1953. In high school he was an excellent athlete in football, basketball and baseball. Jack and Lamar Lundy of Richmond, Indiana are the only two athletes to be selected to both the football and basketball all-star team of 1953.

Jack received a full basketball scholarship to the University of Notre Dame in 1953 graduating in 1957. He coached football, basketball, and baseball at Center Grove High School from 1957-1959.

Jack was a supervisor at General Motors Manufacturing plant in Indianapolis from 1959 until his retirement in 1992. His love for children led him to become a school bus driver for Greenwood School Corporation for 16 years, finally retiring in 2024.

Jack married his high school sweetheart Anne Applegate who was Miss. Clark County in 1955. They had four wonderful children Jack Bedan, Jr., Kevin Bedan, Greg Bedan, and Kathy Bedan-Duggins; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by both parents, his lovely wife Anne Bedan; a son Kevin Bedan and a brother James "Jim" Bedan.

The visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2026, at Noon at St. Francis and Clare Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 pm at the church. Jack will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery next to his lovely wife Anne and son Kevin who are deeply missed.
