Obituary

Jack Robert Heacox, 91, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away May 20, 2021.  He was born November 16, 1929 in Brazil, Indiana to the late Harold and Hazel (Elkins) Heacox; one of nine children.

Jack was a proud Navy veteran who served from 1947-1951.  On April 26, 1953 he married his one true love, Beverly Gregory, and they spent the next 68 years together.  Jack was an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight for 41 years before retiring and member of the Teamsters Union Local 135.  He and Beverly were members of Greenwood Christian Church for more than 25 years.  Jack was also part of the Masons, Shiners, Scottish Rite and the Greenwood American Legion.  Jack and Beverly went on many family vacations and, in later years, trips with their senior group from church.  He was a devoted family man and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly.  Jack will be greatly missed.

Jack is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, David (Vanessa) Heacox, Nancy (Larry) Hopkins, and Mark (Jill) Heacox; grandchildren, Kelly (Wiggam) Carson, Michael Wiggam, Brianne (Brandon) Heacox-Manning, and Kyle Heacox; six great grandchildren and one more on the way; siblings, Mary Lue Smallwood, and Larry Heacox; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his grandson, Shane Wiggam; and siblings, Harold, James, Wilburn, Virginia, Donald, and Tom.

Family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 2:00pm Wednesday, May 26 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 with service to follow at 2:00pm and military honors at the graveside at 3:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Greenwood Christian Church, 2045 Averitt Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143 or Shriners Hospital for Children.
