Jack M. Turpen, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on June 30, 2026.

Born on June 21, 1950, Jack lived a life defined by work, devotion to his family, and a love of the outdoors. He retired from Allison Transmission after many years of service and was a proud member of UAW Local 933.

Jack found his greatest enjoyment on the water. An avid fisherman, he loved spending time at the lake with his fishing buddies and competing in bass tournaments. Whether casting a line or sharing stories with friends, those moments brought him great happiness.

Above all, Jack cherished his family. He was a beloved father to his two daughters, a loyal friend, a joyful son and sibling, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Jack was known for his warm heart and his amazing smile, which had a way of lighting up every room and making those around him feel welcome.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Candace Turpen; his parents, Bruce and Evelyn Turpen; and his brother, Jim Turpen.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jennie (Roger) Fults and Julie (Matt) Knight; his five grandchildren, Shelby (Nate) Walsh, Ashlynn (Levi) Bowman, Max Knight, Dustin Fults, and Luke Knight; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Donna Soulers and Priscilla (Denny) Crossman; his brother, Dan (Linda) Turpen; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens & Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately following the service. The family and Jack ask that in lieu of flowers, family and friends bring donations of fishing equipment to the visitation/services. All donations will be given to the Indian Creek Anglers, a competitive youth fishing team that competes in bass fishing tournaments across the State of Indiana. Donations can also be made in memory of Jack Turpen to the Indian Creek Anglers by contacting Indian Creek High School directly.

Jennie and Julie warmly welcome all family and friends to attend the visitation, service, and burial as they gather to celebrate Jack's life and honor his memory.

Jack's kindness, unwavering love for his family, and passion for fishing will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
