James Claud "Bill" Lovelace, age 96, of Bargersville, IN passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. James was born August 21, 1915 in Somerset, KY to Brutus C. and Vanna (Grabeel) Lovelace. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. James was a member of Bargersville F&AM # 679. He was a Factory Worker at GM Truck and Bus for 30 years and he enjoyed fishing.
James married the former Gladys Hart on August 19, 1948 and she preceded him in death on March 18, 1993. He is survived by his daughter, Patty L. (Richard) Smith of Bargersville; grandchildren, David (Tammy) Smith, of Pendleton, Amanda Dill, of Franklin, Stacey Smith, of Indianapolis, Matt (Amy) Stefkovich, of Chicago, IL and Tom Stefkovich, of Lincoln, NE; eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gladys, son, James E. "Sonny" Lovelace, six sisters and three brothers.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
