James "Randy"
Canfield
Sep 5, 1965 — Apr 6, 2019
James "Randy" Canfield, 53, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully being held lovingly by his wife Angela on Saturday morning, April 6, 2019. Randy was born September 2, 1965, in Beech Grove, Indiana to James R and Jonita L (Peavler) Canfield.
A 1983 graduate of Franklin Central High School, Randy went on to start his career at the Indiana Department of Transportation where he had more than 30 years of service until his medical retirement in 2015.
Enduring more medical struggles than most, Randy fought hard against them throughout most of his young life. Although faced with so many issues he managed to keep everyone laughing and could still see the blessings in his life through even the toughest moments. Randy had an infectious laugh, a bright smile and a kind and caring heart, especially for those in need. A devoted husband, wonderful father to his three kids and a doting Papaw to his 4 grandchildren, he was our blessing. Rather it was tossing the softball with his daughter Samantha, going to one of his son Blake's many wrestling matches or going fishing with his son Kyle, Randy adored his family very much. During his time on this earth Randy touched the lives of so many people, from family to strangers. After marrying Angela in 1996, Randy gained three brothers, Danny, Rick and David whom will miss him beyond words. The four of them shared so many good memories and some memories that will leave a forever mark on their hearts. Randy was an example of what it was to be a true gentleman.
Randy was proceeded in death by his father James R. Canfield, his mother Jonita L. (Peavler) Canfield and his grandmother Thelma Canfield
Survivors include his loving wife Angela Canfield of Indianapolis, Son Kyle (Amber) Canfield of Indianapolis, Son Blake Canfield of Texas and Daughter Samantha (Francisco) Hernandez of North Carolina, Granddaughters Ryleigh, Madeleine and Maite and Grandson Logan. Brothers in law Danny (Heidi) Patton of Indianapolis, Rick (Cindy) Patton of Indianapolis, and David (Angel) Patton of Greenfield, Mother in Law Janet Patton of Indianapolis, Foster Daughters (Great Nieces) Zoey and Josie; along with a host of extended family, co-workers and lifelong friends.
