James "Kenny" Kenneth Hood, Franklin, IN, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was 71 years old. Kenny was born in Lebanon, IN to his parents James Corliss and Isabella Ruth Hood. Kenny married his wife, Deloris Hargis, in 1973 and they shared 52 years of marriage together.
Kenny worked a variety of jobs during his life to support his family. Most recently, Kenny drove a semi-truck for his company, DJay Trucking, for 22 years before retiring in 2022. Kenny was a devout Christian that found comfort and strength in the Gospel. Kenny enjoyed boat fishing and camping with his wife at Lake Monroe. Kenny thrived when he was able to throw himself into his interests; Kenny was known to love building model cars and completing various woodworking projects. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Deloris Hood; his children, Kimberly Dawn Hood, James Victor Hood and Candace Nicole (Frank) Clark; his grandchildren, MyKayla Hood, Joseph Montgomery Walker, Faith Nicole Walker, and Brenna Dagenhardt; his siblings, Della (Burrell) Prine, Patricia (Elworth) Gabehart, and Roy (Debbie) Hood; his several nieces and nephews; his siblings-in-law, JL Hargis, Clinton Hargis, Clifton Hargis, Donald Hargis, Gathel Taylor, Helen Hill, Audrey Taylor, and Doris Tucker.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Julie; his siblings, Don Hood and Susie Hood; parents-in-law, Victor and Ina Hargis; his siblings-in-law, Elzor Hargis, Clemon Hargis, Arnold Hargis, Imogene Adkins, Gellial Paris, Fostine Hargis, Rozetta Hargis and Exodus Hargis.
A graveside service for Kenny will be announced at a later date.
