Mr. James Alan "Jim" Bennie, Greenwood, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was 59. Jim was born January 25, 1962 in Beech Grove, Indiana, a son of the late James Larry Bennie and Judith Ann (Cavin) Bennie.

Jim attended Perry Meridian High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1980. He then went on to earn a Bachelors degree in from Ball State University in 1985.

Anyone who knew Jim knew he was a 'big time' gamer and he especially enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons. He also enjoyed going to game stores to shop and play games and had also attended several GenCon events over the years. He also was a huge fan of Sci-Fi movies and novels.

Jim deeply loved his family and cherished every moment he could spend with them, especially his granddaughter, whom was his pride and joy. He will be remembered for the times he took his sons and nieces and nephews on special activities and outings, always having a great time. He loved them dearly. Jim always found the good in any situation and was a very outgoing man with a great sense of humor even during the difficult days.

Jim is survived by his wife, Stasia Bennie, his sons, James (Amanda) Bennie and Andrew Bennie; his granddaughter, Riley Bennie; his mother, Judy Bennie, a sister, Sheri (Stace) Alcala as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his father, James Larry Bennie.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to either the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
