James L. Rairden, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away December 22, 2015. Born August 31, 1933 in Beech Grove, he was the son of the late Roy and Genevieve (Reckel) Rairden.
He was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, and worked as chief custodian for Perry Township Schools. He retired in 1997, after over twenty years of service. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of New Church of the First Born in Morgantown, Indiana. He enjoyed lawn and garden work.

James is survived by his companion, Donna Marie Dawson; sons, Daniel B.(Mary) Rairden and James B. (Chong) Rairden; daughter, Deborah (Gary) Skorjanc; sister, Shirley A. (Robert) Mason; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gloria Jean McClelland, son, Michael Rairden, daughter, Melody Goodwin, and brother, Roy Rairden.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
