Obituary

James "Jim "Robert Pinegar, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. He was 79 years old. Jim was born in Terre Haute, IN to his parents James W. Pinegar and Thelma Porter. Jim married his wife, Maggie Fulmer, on August 28, 1965, and together they shared 60 years of marriage.
Jim worked as a mechanical construction engineer for Freitag Weinhardt and Frank E. Irish & Sons and retired after 40 years of service. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood with his wife for 33 years; Jim and Maggie always enjoyed the fellowship and worship that the church provided. Jim served the church in a leadership capacity for many years. Jim was a Purdue fan and an Indianapolis Colts fan. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, reading books, and playing golf. Jim was able to golf with a few of his friends in every county of Indiana. Jim always said his family was the most important thing and he looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed for his wonderful sense of humor, determined strength and handy abilities for many years to come.
Jim is survived by his wife, Maggie Pinegar; his children, Andy (Lisa) Pinegar, Randy (DuRhonda) Pinegar, and Angie (Brian) Smith; his grandchildren, Preston Pinegar, Cameron (Chelseigh) Pinegar, Luke (Shelby) Pinegar, Braden (Ashley) Pinegar, Allison Smith and Clayton Smith; his great grandchild, Nora Pinegar; his sister, Jackie (Keith) Class; his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Dorothy Pinegar; his grandmother, Vallie Pinegar; his brothers, Phil Pinegar and James Winkler.
A visitation for Jim will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:30 am-1:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 1:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm
