James Sgroi Sr. 91 of Indianapolis passed away January 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1922 in Indianapolis to the late Salvatore and Maria (Romano) Sgroi. James worked as an Inside Sales Manager for Central Rubber and Supply Company for thirty seven years, retiring in 1977. After retirement he built eighteen homes. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus #3660.
Survivors include, a son, James M. Sgroi (Gerry); two daughters, Charlene Lindblom (Eugene), and Janice Sgroi; a brother Salvatore Sgroi Jr; fifteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Patty; a son Robert Sgroi; two daughters, Mary Theresa and Mary Ann Sgroi; a brother, Michael Sgroi; three sisters, Mary, Frances, and Rose. A mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday January 22, 2013, 10:00 AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Visitation from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. Memorial contributions can be made to The Blinded Veterans Association.
