James Isaac Shipley, age 91, of Greenwood, passed peacefully into rest on December 6, 2015 at his son''s residence in Pennsylvania. James was born June 9, 1924 in Nashville, Indiana. He was the son of the late Isaac and Mary Jane (Hedger) Shipley.
James married Frances Lydia Bradley on June 12, 1948 in Indianapolis, and spent the next 67 years at each others side raising their wonderful family. James was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from Chrysler Motors in Indianapolis in 1985. He attended Mooresville Community Church. He was a member of the Mooresville American Legion Post# 103, and V.F.W. Post# 7118, Linton, Indiana.

Surviving are, sons, Bruce (Rene'') Shipley of Spartansburg, PA; Daryl Shipley of Camby, and Terry Shipley of Bargersville; daughter, Lynda Durden of Mooresville; 10 Grandchildren and 9 great - grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; His wife, Frances Lydia (Bradley) Shipley; Five brothers, and nine sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 11, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery in Nashville, Indiana.
