Janet Cheryl Gasper, 72, of Trafalgar, passed away March 18, 2017. The daughter of Charles J. and Virginia P. Lashbrook Elzea, Janet was born July 22, 1944 in Indianapolis.

Janet was a member of Neighborhood Church of God in Nineveh, Women of The Church of God, Purdue Homemakers Club, assisted with The American Legion Wounded Warrior Benefits and coached soccer. Janet loved to sing and enjoyed painting in acrylics.

A cosmetologist, over the years, she owned and operated Reflections; The Blue Room and Jan''s Hair Care. Janet also served as a Chaplain at St. Francis Hospital and was the CPA/Controller for the former Jordan - Lawrence Funeral Home.

Janet is survived by her husband, Robert N. Gasper; son, Shawn C. Gasper; daughter, Sheryl D. (Phillip D.) Sammons; sisters, Sharla Elzea and Kimberly Elzea; grandchildren, Adam J., Joseph D. and Caleb J. Sammons, Aaron, Taylor and Nicole Gasper; great-granddaughter, Evelyn G. Sammons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Barton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. March 22, 2017 at South Emerson Church of God - 3939 South Emerson Avenue, Indianapolis, with fellowship immediately following the service. Private entombment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
