Janet Kay Verble, 75, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012. She was born on September 13, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Delmar and Bertha (Mercier) Lee. Janet is a graduate of Kankakee High School.
Janet was employed as a cashier for Greenwood''s Walmart for 18 years prior to retirement. She loved to travel, take cruises and vacations, attend dinner theatres and movies, as well as visit Elvis Presley''s Graceland. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Janet is survived by her loving sons: Randy Raber (Paula); Dale Raber (Crystal); Mark Raber (Jennifer); Kerry Raber (Debbie); Jim Raber; and Steve Raber; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father to the boys Ronald Walter Raber; and second husband Jack D. Verble.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doyle Lakes officiating. Entombment will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
