Janice Elaine Dexter, Franklin, IN, passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday March 3, 2024. She was 71 years old. Janice was born in Beech Grove, IN to her parents Gilbert J. and Gloria June Keown. She graduated from Emmerich Manuel High School. Janice married her husband, Phil, on October 30, 1970 and together they shared 53 years of marriage together.
Janice worked as a printing press operator for Red Line Graphics and retired in 2016 after  over thirty years in the printing industry. Janice practiced christianity all during her life. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds and caring for her beloved wave petunias. Her family lovingly remembers her cooking and her passion for quality time. Janice always enjoyed family vacations, holidays and reunions. She taught her children to be humble and hardworking people by exemplifying those qualities any chance she could. Her generous heart and selfless demeanor will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Janice is survived by her husband Phil Dexter; her children, Tammy (Clate) Sanquenetti, Amy (David) Bergdoll, Pamela Dexter, Phillip Dexter II; bonus daughter, Miranda Loos; her grandchildren, Chelsie, Austin, Courtney, Adam, Brea, Jayden and Vincent; her great grandchildren, Jaxson, Harper and Asher; her siblings, Steve Keown and Tim Keown; her nieces and nephews, Tabitha, Wesley, Haley, Casey, Mike and Gary.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents; her grandchild, Timothy Young; her siblings, Terri Rivers and Harold Payne; her niece, Annette McGuire.
A visitation for Janice will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
