Jason Alan McLerran, 47, of Columbus passed away January 31.  He was born April 7, 1973 in Sarasota, Florida to Paula "Marti" Dininger-McLerran-Riggs and Duane McLerran.

Jason graduated from Greenwood High School, where he earned a tennis scholarship, and then went on to play tennis at University of Indianapolis, and then Indiana State University until an injury prevented him from playing any longer.  Later, he went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from IUPUI.  Throughout his schooling, he was always on the Dean's List.  During his rehabilitation, he discovered a love for weightlifting and then became a competitive bodybuilder.  Jason was always learning new things, ever on a quest for more knowledge.  Jason was an avid sports fan and supported the Chicago Bears, basketball's #23 Michael Jordan, IU basketball, particularly Damon Bailey and Steve Alford, and had a passion for Indy Car racing.  He enjoyed watching shows about UFOs, aliens, and history, and had an unending love of animals, especially his sweet dog, Ellie.

Jason is survived by his parents, Marti (Andy) and Duane (Lisa); Laila McAuliffe (his life partner); son, Aaron McLerran; and daughter, Victoria McAuliffe.

He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Flex.
