Jeffery Lynn Robinette went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was the son of Elmer B. and Pauline (Draughn) Robinette, both already in Heaven. He was the sixth of their seven children who include siblings Brenda Morter (Jack), Dennis H. (also in Heaven) and wife Judi, Marvin L. (Charlotte), Elmer W. (Ana), Sheree G., and Christopher A. (Cherie). Surviving are his wife, Cindy, and only son, Matthew.

Jeff was a member of Garfield Christian Church. He was a past member of Community Church of Greenwood where he was active in Children''s Ministry and Pioneer Club. In Adult Ministry, he taught Discipleship Training, often in tandem with his wife, Cindy.

As an employee of Allison Transmission for nearly 38 years, Jeff steadily worked his way up to being a Technical Trainer in Allison''s training department. He participated in many educational seminars, and he was written about in national training journals for his skill and prowess in teaching adults. He received many awards and citations for his excellent work. Many will remember his original learning games including one designed as a Jeopardy! set and one designed as a football field. He personally built the goal posts out of PVC pipe then pitted the men against the women. He was also honored for his development of many technical training manuals. He cultivated friendships of many years within Allison''s, particularly in the training department. He returned to college in 2006. Father and son were both college freshmen at the same time and loved to show their student IDs to get movie discounts. Jeff graduated with a Bachelor''s Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2010. He continued his studies to earn his MBA from the University of Phoenix in April, 2012.

Jeff was very proud of his only son, Matthew, whose pictures were always on Jeff''s desk at work. He coached many of Matthew''s sports teams and especially loved coaching basketball. He was just as concerned to develop character and good sportsmanship in his players as well as the fundamentals of basketball. He and Matthew enjoyed going to the movies, cheering on IU basketball and the Colts, and attending Cincinnati Reds games every summer. They also did an annual father-son trip, travelling to places of interest to them.

A quiet man, Jeff was devoted to his family and fiercely protective of them. He was kind, gentle, sensitive, loyal, practical and truly someone who would give you the shirt off his back. He was the salt of the earth, now residing among the stars of Heaven, beholding his Savior''s face. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews including Patti Pickrel (Jeff) and children Maggie and Max; Charlene Grahl (Tim); Mona Adkins (Bud) and children Evan and Justin; Carrie Lynn Jones (Dennis) and children, Gabriele and Dalton; Hector and his son, Marcos; Candis George (Chris); and Courtney Merrill (Josh).

Calling will be 4-8 p.m. at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at 3100 W. Stones Crossing Road in Greenwood, IN, on Friday, July 19, 2013. Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the church. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens after the service.
