Jerald Martin Gilpin, 81 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 10, 2019. Jerald was born on September 21, 1937 to Charles and Frances Gilpin. Jerald owned and operated Gilpin Glass Service, INC. for 47 years in the Indianapolis area. Jerald knew not many strangers; he was not only well known, but also very respected in his community and line of work. Jerald will be remembered and treasured for his incredible sense of humor and his kind loving and generous heart. Jerald was an animal lover, often rescuing animals and neighborhood strays of all kinds. He enjoyed collecting Antique Toys. Jerald was a proud family man, hosting Christmas annually, he would often be found with his camera, recording every lasting moment. He loved and was equally loved and will be greatly missed.

Jerald leaves behind to cherish his memory, his  wife of 20 years, Barbara; son, Jerry W. (Margaret) Gilpin; daughters, Diana L. Gangwer, Cid (David) Brown, Donna Kay Lowe and Sherry Gilpin; step-daughters, Darla (Shell) Carper and Cara (Rod) Romeril; half-brothers, Dennis Wetter and David Wetter; grandchildren, Daniel (Katessa) Haynes, Audrey Haynes, Ashley (Justin) Brown-Horowitz, Ryan Brown, Kaitlyn Brown, David Headrick, Tracy (Aaron) Grose, Wesley (Julia) Headrick, Tyler Lubbs, Michelle (Jeremiah) Johnson and Charlie Gilpin; 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Jerald is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jon Burford in 2000; siblings, Bob Hause, Paul Gilpin and Donna Ralston.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society for Hamilton County or FACE of Indianapolis.
