Obituary

Jerry "Jerbear" Billington, 79, of Beech Grove passed away on December 27, 2020.  Jerry was born to the late Autry and Pauline (Turner) Billington on February 17, 1941.

Jerry was a member of Indy Southside Church of the Nazarene, where he enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.  Jerry held strong to his faith in God and the teaching of Jesus Christ.  His kindness knew no bounds, and he was a faithful friend.

Jerry loved basketball.  He played until the age of 55, and he coached Booster basketball.  He coached baseball for Beech Grove Little League, and he was a Hall of Fame member.  He loved fishing with his boys and his brother, Bob.  He especially loved fishing with his cousins and uncles at Lake Barkley.

Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren, and always enjoyed watching them play sports.  He loved spending time with family and friends, going out to dinner, and vacationing at the Bon Aire.

To know Jerry was to love Jerry.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us."  Romans 8:18

Jerry will be forever remembered by his wife of 29 years, Peggy (Templin) Billington; sons, Mark (Jill) Scott, Chris (Aimee), and Jeffrey (Jackie); stepchildren, Audra (Todd), and Nick (Steph); grandchildren, Brian, Sam, Jack, Chase, Joel, Kate, Bryce, Nola, Adrianna, Kayla, Brittany, Brayleigh, and Renner; sisters, Jackie Barron and Jane (Bucky) Jacques; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Billington.

There will be a private family visitation and service January 6, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana  46143.
