Jerry Richard Bowers, 65, passed away peacefully and on his own time, Thursday, February 9, 2012. Jerry was born on May 21, 1946 in Indianapolis to the late William and Anna (McGowen) Bowers. Jerry is a U.S. Army veteran.
Jerry was a tremendously loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Jerry was a retired truck driver for Superior Oil. He loved watching sports, making jokes, and putting smiles on other''s faces. Above all, he loved his grandchildren to the fullest.
Jerry is survived by his loving children: Christina Champ (Shawn) and Jerry Bowers, Jr. (Carrie); siblings: Beverly Jean Hunter (Larry) and Daniel Bowers (Connie); and 4 grandchildren: Corina, Briana, Caleb, and Gabriel Champ.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother William Bowers Jr.; and wife Patricia Pappy'' (Redmond) Bowers.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as well as on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood with the funeral following at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
