Jerry Wayne Depew, Sr., 67, of Nashville, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 26, 2014.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. July 30, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. and burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens., Greenwood.

Jerry was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Harold Depew, Sr. and Susie Depew on July 3, 1947. He married Phyllis on October 27, 1967. He worked as a maintenance technician for Westvaco Envelope for 31 years. Jerry was an avid outdoors man always on the go and never idle. If he was not out on a hunting trip or fishing trip, you could find him tinkering in his garage or working around the cabin and land he loved. As on the go as he was there was always time for family. Whether it was a family cook out, shooting targets, or just a visit a great time was had by all.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and grandparents and one son. Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Jerry W. Depew, Jr., Mechelle Garr (Larry), Melissa Smith (Jim), Melinda Messenger (Tim) and Corey Depew (Carrie); brothers and sisters, Doug, Donnie, Jay, Harold Jr., Linda and Darlene; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
