Jerry Jenning Harting, 75, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away October 4, 2017. The son of Alfred J. and Mary M. Hancock Harting, Jerry was born August 5, 1942 in Elwood, Indiana.

He served in the Indiana National Guard during the 1960''s. From 1988 to 2006, he worked at the Franklin United Methodist Community. Jerry enjoyed taking walks, listening to gospel music, doing crossword puzzles and was a man of faith and read his Bible.

On September 24, 2005, he married Rita K. Burkhart in Franklin, Indiana. Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita K. Harting of Franklin; brother, Gerald A. Harting of Ft. Wayne and sister, Louise Miller of Elwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Frank, Raymond and Archie Harting and sister, Bonnie Idlewine.

Funeral services 11:30 a.m. October 9, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135 where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
