Jerry Lee Michael, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was 85 years old. Jerry was born in Kokomo, IN to his parents, George and Vera Michael. Jerry married his wife, Rita, on June 8th, 1974, and they shared 51 years of marriage together.
Jerry worked as a Multi Foreman for Indianapolis Power and Light Company and retired in 2001 after 43 years of service. Jerry was a frequent attendee of Emmanuel Church with his wife for many years. Jerry enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He loved following various sports (NASCAR, Football, Basketball, etc.) and remained a lifelong fan of the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. Jerry was known to appreciate spending time watching the squirrels and birds that frequented his feeder. He loved music and he liked to sing for close friends and family throughout his life; as a young man, Jerry used to sing in his band, the Blue Star Boys. Jerry will be remembered as a lovable jokester with a straight-shooting personality and a deep love for his family. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita Michael; his children, Rick Michael, Dave Michael, Tammy Michael and Diana (Mark) Geloff; his grandchildren, Hunter Geloff, Marie Michael, Sean Michael, and Sam Michael; his 2 siblings; his beloved dog, Bella.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved dogs, Dutch and Peanut.
A visitation for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
