Jerry Purkhiser, 79 of Greenwood passed away on October 11, 2018. Jerry was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 20, 1938 to George E. and Wilma (Sparks) Purkhiser. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, entering in April 1959, serving three years, and 13 months of that in Korea. Some of Jerry's life enjoyments were, playing baseball, golfing, bowling; fishing and he loved watching outdoor shows on TV. Jerry loved his family and will be greatly missed. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carolyn Stickles, Bob Wetzel, Devon Wetzel and Dennis Purkhiser. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Joyce E. Purkhiser; son, Jeffery Scott (Kimberly) Purkhiser; daughter, Jennifer Leigh Stuckey; twin brother, Perry Purkhiser; sisters, Bonnie (Lewis) Jones and Judy (Phil) Sims; half brother, Russell Wetzel; step siblings, George (Diana) Wetzel, Charles Wetzel, Joanne Isom and Treva Wetzel; grandchildren, Jimmy Stuckey, Amanda (Anthony Hackett) Waltz, Glenn Stuckey, Debra (Tony) Pierle, Jacob (Stephanie Hamm) Waltz, Jessica Stuckey, Joshua (Samantha) Purkhiser, Kaylie Purkhiser and Brayton Purkhiser; 10 great grandchildren.
