Jewel Diane Walker, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away September 15, 2016. The daughter of Burrell T. and Nellie Ribelin Dorsey, Jewel was born June 17, 1928 in Indianapolis.

She was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church, enjoyed playing golf and tennis, boating and swimming, traveling, working crossword puzzles and working in her garden - growing vegetables and flowers. She loved listening to music, from the 1940''s to current day hits and Lawrence Welk. In 1986, after 28 years of service, Jewel retired from the Southport Branch of Merchants National Bank as a customer service representative.

Jewel is survived by her husband of 68 years, Paul S. Walker of Indianapolis; son, Garry A. (Becky) Walker of Indianapolis; daughter, Diana J. (John) Hall of Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Elaine Walker of Greenwood; brother, Tom (Maplette) Rogers of Hilton Head, SC; sister, June McFarland of Edinburgh; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery P. Walker.

Dr. David A. Baillie will conduct funeral services 1:00 p.m. September 21, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. September 21, 2016. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
