Franklin:
Jewel Grubbs, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Jewel was born on January 15, 1936 in Liberty, KY to the late John M. and Jeannette (Stayton) Bolt. Jewel married her sweetheart Leo Richard Grubbs on August 15, 1953 in Osgood, IN.
Jewel was a housewife and mom and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She was a tremendous gardener of flowers and vegetables. She could always be found outside tending to the vegetation or at the neighbors taking care of their flower gardens. Jewel also loved children and was a magnet to the little ones at her church where she taught Sunday School. She also loved to dabble on the computer creating cards for her family.
Jewel is survived by her loving husband Leo of 57 years; their children: Patty Clark (husband, Craig); Leo Grubbs, Jr. (wife, Lora); and David Grubbs (wife, Sherry); 2 brothers: Jerald Bolt (wife, Ruthie) and James Bolt (wife, Mary); 3 sisters: Jody Ingerson (husband, Cliff); Juanita Spangler (husband, Van); and Jolene Hall (husband, Donnie); and 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
