Jimmie Franklin, 94, of Greenwood passed away October 9, 2016. He was born March 13, 1922 in Louisville, KY to Charles Franklin and Amanda Frances (Bohannon) Moore.

Jimmie retired from Eli Lilly in 1986, who was known as "Ben" at work. He was a member of the Mason''s for 52 years and Franklin Road Baptist Church. Jimmie enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary and reading books about history. He was a veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 67 years, Mary Elizabeth (Rivers) Franklin; 8 siblings and great grandson, Joshua David Rose.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Jane (Jim) Grizzel; twin sister, Amanda Frances Smoot; grandchildren, Christine (James) Guzman and Jim (Kim) Grizzel; great grandchildren, TJ, Dustin and Chelsea Rose, Kaylee, Kloee and Klayton Grizzel and Grace Guzman; great great grandchild, Colton Rose and grand dog, Molly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12 from 12 pm - 2 pm with a funeral service at 2 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
