JoAnne Ponto, 78, of Greenwood, passed away May 28, 2013. The daughter of John and Leila Wilson Higgins, JoAnne was born July 16, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A retired realtor with Re/Max, JoAnne was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.

Survivors include sons, Jeff (Vena) Taylor of Trafalgar, Jay (Linda) Taylor of Byron, Georgia and Bud (Crissy) Ponto, II of Greenwood; daughters, Beth Ponto-Williams of Noblesville, Julie Hogan Morgantown and Linda Flock of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Ponto and sister, Jeanne Craig.

Msgr. Mark Svarczkopf will celebrate the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. June 3, 2013 at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church - 335 South Meridian Street, Greenwood. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. June 2, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood and one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
