Avon:
John Robert (Bob) Goode, born November 22, 1930, passed away August 3, 2011.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 - 1970 retiring as a CWO2 having served aboard the USS Waccamaw, USS Ajax, USS Jason & the USS Tawasa. Bob was a member, moderator & Deacon of Oak Park Baptist Church of Indianapolis. Bob retired in 1999 with 21 years of service with Sears Roebucks & Co. in Lafayette Square Mall in Indianapolis where he was an Electronics salesman.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents John W. Goode & Stella A. (Goode, DeSimone) Hoyt, Wife Bernadine (Privette, Webb) Goode, Sons Richard A & Darryl K. Goode, and daughter Sharon A. Potter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Glorena (Clements) Goode; brother Richard (Hazel) Goode; sisters Dessa Miller, Yvonne Rench & Christina (Mark) Scott; children John McFall, Robert M. Goode, Katherine (Rodney) Denman & Karen (Randy Rooker) Raney. Bob is also survived by his step-children: Danny (Shirley) & David Webb, Debbie (Dan) Alsup, Pam (Mark) White, Shelley (Wayne) Vanover, Kathy (Joe) Birge, Lisa Clements, Rita Spear, Karen (John) Baker; 35 grandchildren & 45 great-grandchildren; and 5 nieces & 5 nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with full military rites afforded. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Park Baptist Church at 1503 S.
