John Harvey Byrd 79, passed away July 4, 2010. He was born July 9, 1931 in Glasgow, KY to the late Harvey Lee Byrd and Della Mcclusky Byrd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mittie Mae Byrd; step-mother Maydel Byrd; two brothers, Jerry and Bob Mcculsky. He is survived by, two sisters Rosie Byrd and Brenda Harper, four sons, John (Rhonda), Robbie (Mary), Terry, and Mike (Jennifer) Byrd. Nine Grandchildren Melissa "Sis"(Jose), Johnny (Maggie), Joe (Danielle), Eric, Rachel (Justin) Byrd Morales, Robert Earl (Wendy), Richard (Sheila), David (Brandi) and Jamie Byrd. Many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. John worked hard all of his life. He worked for RCA, Love Motors, Indiana Box Company, Harts Auto Parts and many other junkyards. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, He will be greatly missed. Calling will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, on Friday July 9 from 11 a.m.-2p.m. with service to immediately follow also at the funeral home.
