Obituary

John "Jack" Delaney, 88, of Indianapolis peacefully passed away on July 11, 2018, with his family by his side. Jack was born in Atchison, Kansas, to George and Mary Frances (Sullivan) Delaney. He was preceded in death by his Sister Mary Francis "Bunch" and Brother George Robert "Bob". Jack was a lifelong, dedicated Roman Catholic.

Jack served in the army from 1947 – 1948; afterwards, he attended St. Benedict College.  He retired from Memory Gardens Cemetery in 1996, where he worked in office management since 1957.

Jack enjoyed spending his summers driving out to California visiting his many nieces and nephews. He loved watching sports, working in his garden, collecting coins, and recording movies.

He is survived by: his sons, Steven Delaney, Kevin Delaney, Adam Hoytol, and Mark Hoytol; his grandchildren, Jenny Burris, Steve Maddox, and Daniel Delaney; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16 th from 4pm-8pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, IN.  A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN on July 17 th at 10:30am, followed by a burial service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
