Mr. John Norman Fulmer, Greenwood, passed away on the evening of Monday, September 20, 2021. He was 78. John was born September 28, 1942 in Butlerville, Indiana, a son of the late John Daniel and Vera Maxine (Peigh) Fulmer.
John attended Center Grove High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1960. He began working in the family business, Fulmer's Orchard, as a youth and continued working there for many years later. John was employed in production at Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors and retired after 30 years of service. He had also spent several years as a driver for Johnson County Access Public Transit in his retirement years.
In his leisure time, John enjoyed playing and watching golf, gardening and collecting antiques. He placed many of his treasures on display in exhibits at the Indiana State Fair for which he won several awards. He had a passion for classic cars and loved competing in car shows around the area with his 1990 Cadillac and 1976 Dodge Dart.
John had most recently attended Emmanuel Church - Greenwood Campus and prior to that had been a part of the Grace Assembly of God in Whiteland.
John is survived by his children, Jay Daniel Fulmer and Jill Renae (Doug) Miller; his grandchildren, Jacob D. (Kaitlyn) Miller, Jeremy R. Miller and Jessica R. Miller; a sister, Janet (Dennis) Norman; the mother of his children, Judy (Ross) Dyer as well as two nephews, Duane Norman and Dan Norman.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his second wife, Janie Fulmer, on June 5, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Andrew Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday, September 27, 2021 at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society.
