Mr. John R. Hudson, Indianapolis, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was 73. John was born June 17, 1948 in Lebanon, Indiana, a son of the late Charles and Patsy (Chapman) Hudson.
John attended Decatur High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1967. He was a proud veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. While he was in the military, he worked as an airplane mechanic. John had been employed as a service technician with Endress & Hauser where he served for 20 years and retired in 2012.
John was a member of the VFW as well as the Paralyzed Veterans of America. In his spare time, John liked to read and enjoyed watching game shows and sci-fi movies, especially Star Trek. He loved good food and enjoyed eating. He spent many hours reading his Bible and everyone considered him a true gentleman. John dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his long-haired Dachshund, Chili.
John is survived by his wife Barbara Ann (Aubrey) Hudson; his daughter, Doris (Rick) Hayes; his grandchildren, Shiloh Becker and Richard (Seleena) Hayes; his great-grandchildren Hayley Quakenbush, Corbin Quakenbush, Adalina Reitz and Leah Hayes; his great-great-grandchildren, Isabella Finder and Isaiah Finder.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his children, Tina Hudson, Tom Hudson and Terry Hudson as well as an infant grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Friday, January 14, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or the Wounded Warriors.
