Mr. John Robert Kouns, Martinsville, passed away on the early morning of Friday, April 2, 2021 at Community Rehabilitation Hospital South. He was 73. John was born September 19, 1947 in Lebanon, Indiana a son of the late Paul Noble and Mary Katherine (Fulwider) Kouns.

John attended Sheridan High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1965. He had been employed in insulin production for Eli Lilly and Company, retiring in 2000 after 34 years of service. John was a farmer along with his job at Lilly and enjoyed motorcycles, old cars and all genres of music but especially country and old rock. He spent some of his leisure time mowing and taking care of his yard. John enjoyed sports particularly football and animals, especially dogs. A family man, John enjoyed participating in 4-H activities with his daughters as they raised and showed hogs. He cherished the time he spent with his family. John was simple man and had an easy going nature. He will be missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Donna Jo (Gilly) Kouns; his daughters, Jamie Kouns and Nicole Kouns; his granddaughter, Journey Gracyn Kouns, a brother, Gene (Marlene) Kouns; a sister, Linda Stahl as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time.
