John "Tyler" Phillips, age 24, son of Donna and Richard Etter, brother to Andrew Phillips (Twin), Ashley and Patrick Alvey, and Jacob Phillips. Grandson to Mary Lou Fox and Donald and Wanda Phillips. "Tyler" as we always called him, was born June13 of 1991 along with fraternal twin Andrew at Wishard Hospital then quickly transferred to Riley Children's Hospital. Tyler was paralyzed with Spina Bifida and confined to a wheelchair. But confinement did not stop Tyler from radiating the love inside his immeasurable heart. Tyler loved to be outside with family and friends by a campfire. But Tyler also loved to go bowling. In fact, Tyler won a medal in The Special Olympics bowling event. With that said, Tyler''s favorite thing in the world was country music. He knew all of the songs, artists, lyrics, and more. Music was his therapy. John Tyler Phillips left the physical world early morning September 18th of 2015. Every single person that he met is at a loss of words from this unexpected passing. He will not only be remembered but celebrated as being one of the most loving people in the world. Never once did he complain. Never once was he not happy. Never once did he pity himself. Ironically, he had every right to be all of those things. But that is the beauty of Tyler. We can learn from him. We can grow from him. Right now all we can do is relish on the beautiful memories of this young man and realize that life really is short. It''s no clich to say, but make it a point of your day to be kind, loving, and fearless. If Tyler could do it, so can we. "To die would be an awfully big adventure." Thank you for the amazing adventure, Tyler.
