John W. Tames, 74, of Indianapolis died July 7, 2009. John was born to the late Harry H. and Catherine Hale Tames in Indianapolis on August 19, 1934. John retired from Indianapolis Power & Light 1998 working there for 43 years. John was a active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, and retirement group with IPL called the Lumineries. At one time John was a coach with ther Southport Little League girl's softball. He graduated from Manuel High School. John married Marabeth Finke and she precedes him in death. Surviving two son and daughter-inlaws: Roger and Angela Tames, Steven and Robin Tames. One daughter: Priscilla Tames Dance. Two sisters: Laura Martin and Becky Rosenberger. Seven grandchildren. Family will recieve friends Sunday, July 12 from 3-7 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday with viewing one prior at the Calvary Lutheran Church , 6111 Shelby, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to the Calvary Lutheran Church.
